After learning about the program during my first year of college, I have been interested in the opportunity. It’s clear that you are looking for a passionate applicant that can be relied upon to work professionally and effectively. Given these requirements, I believe I am the perfect candidate for this position. I am currently a junior studying Journalism Strategic Communication at Ohio University (3.7 GPA) after transferring from Taylor University (3.9 GPA).
At this point in my academic career, I have managed to gain public relations experience through involvement in PRSSA, 1804 Communication, and in classes such as Advertising and Public Relations Research and Theory; Ethics, Mass Media and Society; Multiplatform Writing and Reporting; Introduction to Strategic Communication and Introduction to Mass Media. I have also gained cross-cultural and ministry experience through involvement in Cru, Taylor University’s Irish Studies Program, and in classes such as Biblical Literature I and II; Contemporary Ireland; Living Cross Culturally and Difficult Dialogues: Religious Beliefs.Throughout my work and academic experience, I have developed valuable skills such as interpersonal communication, consumer research and cultural competence. I have consistently provided quality work to my supervisors and professors. Whether working on academic, extracurricular or professional projects, I actively apply proven problem solving, detail oriented and critical thinking skills, which I hope to apply in the Global Internship Program. After reviewing my application, I hope you will agree that I am the type of positive and driven candidate that you are looking for.
I look forward to discussing how my specific skills and abilities will benefit Samaritan’s Purse. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
