As a future educator,there are many qualities that are expected from me to pursue this professionlike being organized, being relatable, being adaptable, and so many more. Askill highlight for me is that I am a very organized person because I am verymeticulous when it comes to how things should look like and in a classroomorganization is essential because teachers are relied upon to fill numerous roles,some that have little to do with the topic being taught. In any case, the gluethat can hold all of this together for teachers is simply the ability to beorganized themselves, their classroom, and their students. Being relatable tomy students is important to me because as a future instructor, it is my job toconvince students how this work pertains to their everyday lives and future. Studentsare looking for relevance and my ability to draw a connection to their ownlives is going to help my students become more involved and engaged in theclassroom. In my professional life, a lot of my experience comes from teachingkids how to swim as a lifeguard and a swim instructor. As an instructor tokids, it is important for me to be adaptable because each child is differentand, as educators, we much acknowledge that.

Being a lifeguard not only hastaught me to be very adaptable, but it has also taught me to be quick on myfeet. On the job anything can happen and this pertains to being a teacher in aclassroom. Teachers can plan their day perfectly but if something were to gowrong, they must quickly know how to treat the situation and find a solution tothe problem. The most important quality is the ability to recognize is theuniqueness of each individual child with his or her unique educational needs.

Myphilosophy of teaching is that every child is different and it is my job tofocus on their individual needs in order for them to reach their full potentialas a student. I would try to become aware of the strengths and weaknesses ofeach student through continuous assessments and observations. Once theirstrengths are identified, those strengths are challenged and those weaknessesare nurtured. What I hope to gain fromthe Teacher Education Program is the ability to enhance students’ lives and bea positive role model that they can look up to and trust. Having a teacher thatshows they care about the child’s future in education and life will encouragethe student and spark their interest in learning, causing them to gain moreknowledge. Being able to nurture the growth of a student is why so many people inour world want to become teachers. To be that source of inspiration for a childmakes it worth every hardship that was endured when it comes to being aneducator.
