As the head of the department of Electricaland Electronics Engineering, I had noticed Ms.Bhavani from close quarters andhave made substantial observations. Many of these are my personal observationswhile some of them are that of my colleagues’. I believe that theseobservations would help you to get a better picture about her.
Bhavanistood first in the class with 83.75% and 83.75% respectively in the third andfifth semesters.
Her constancy in studies is very evident from the fact that inthe rest of the semesters, she always finds a place among the toppers in theclass. One can easily notice her proficiency in laboratory sessions from herscores–Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Engineering Laboratory (98%), ComputerProgramming Laboratory (96%), Electrical Machines-1(97%), ElectronicsLaboratory (99%), Electrical Machines-2 (97%) and Linear Integrated CircuitsLaboratory (98%), Control and Instrumentation (99%) and Microprocessor (96%). Bhavani has enthusiastically represented ourcollege in many technical paper presentation contests. She had also broughtlaurels to our college by winning prizes in many of them. She spearheadedvarious technical events under the aegis of HEESA (Hindustan Electrical andElectronics Scholars’ Association) as its Joint Secretary during theperiod-2001-02. Some of her bold and innovative initiatives won her accoladesfrom the teaching community and the management.OMEGA -a two day National Level TechnicalSymposium was her brain child. It attracted over 500 students from all over thecountry.
She acted as the interface between the college and the industries andorganized eminent technocrats to address the audience. Both the choice ofindividuals and the choice of topics were very pertinent and revealed herunderstanding of what the technical community of the world in general and thecountry in particular needs tomorrow.SPARK, an in-house technical journal was thefirst of its kind in our college campus and was soon patronized by all in thecollege alike. As its founder managing editor, she gleaned information fromvarious sources and organized the professors and students to contributemeaningfully to this technical journal. Some of the latest advancements in thefield of Electrical and Electronics Engineering were thoughtfully collated byher efforts.
Bhavani organized a major enrollment drivefor our IEEE students’ chapter and within one year of her assuming as the chairperson, she enrolled as many as sixty engineering scholars to our chapter. This broughtto the surface her ability to assume leadership position and capacity tomotivate. Her English fluency is evident from the fact that her command overthe language is excellent.
Her technical writing skills are well pronounced.Bhavani works very hard to scale greaterheights. This pertinacity in working hard really makes her easily stand out. Attimes her individuality supplants that of others. I think she holds greatpromise as a student and enrolling her with full or partial financial aid inyour department is undoubtedly a prudent decision.
