Islam more than anyone in the Qur’an and

Islam is a dominant religion in the
Middle East, parts of Asia, and North Africa. When it relates to Muslim men and
women the culture and views of society are vastly different from just your
typical religion. Essentially Islam and its religion are based on the religious
teachings of the book called the “Qur’an”. The meaning of the Qur’an is a
complete submission to God, and as a result a Muslim is someone who submits
themselves fully to God. Based on Islam and its teachings as a religion,
they’re five duties a Muslim must practice within their community

The most important Muslim practices
are the Five Pillars of Islam. The Five Pillars of Islam are seen as the five duties
that every Muslim must accomplish in order to live a good and responsible life,
beginning with Shahadah. Shahadah simply is, sincerely reciting the Muslim
profession of faith, Salat, performing ritual prayers in the proper way five
times each day. Zakat, paying alms (or donation) tax to benefit the poor and
needy. Sawm, fasting during the month of Ramadan, and Hajj, which is a
Pilgrimage to Mecca.

Being devoted is the key to
carrying out the Muslim religion and the Five Pillars; doing so demonstrates
that the Muslim man/woman is putting their faith first and not just trying to
fit it in with their worldly lives

Muslims have six main beliefs. They
believe in the Day of Judgement; the day when the life of every human being
will be assessed to decide whether they go to heaven or hell. The belief in
Predestination; that Allah has the knowledge of all that will happen. Allah;
the name Muslims use for the absolute and unique God who created and rules
everything. Angels; that in heaven an angel is nobody in particular but has the
likeness of a man and has the ability to take human forms sometimes involving
common people. Holy Books; the Qur’an as I mentioned previously is their holy
book and what Muslims abide by. Prophets; Ibrahim, Musa, Isa (Jesus) Muhammad.

Prophets are the most important
figures of the religion and knowing what each individual contribution to the
religion will help understand how each was viewed. Ibrahim was seen as the
father of the Arab people as well as the Jewish people. Ibrahim was a profound
biblical figure that was seen as the model of obedience to God and the friend
of God. Moses was the most talked about and most important prophet in the
Muslim faith and Christianity.

Moses is mentioned more than anyone in the
Qur’an and was not only a prophet but also a messenger of the people. Jesus; is
the God that we all worship. Muhammad: peace be upon him, he is the last and
final prophet and
Muslims believe that the final and complete revelation of their faith was made
through the prophet Muhammad.
