My name is Jenny, and I was born in Gwanju, South Korea, on Wednesday, June 25th, 2003; 40 years after George Michael was born in London. I emigrated to Canada with my family in May 2010. Therefore, I lived in Korea for seven years and in Canada for seven years. To begin with, some of my favourite hobbies are playing badminton, listening to music, and travelling with my family.
Firstly, I began playing badminton at the age of ten. Since 2016, I competed in many tournaments. My most unforgettable experience was participating in Jeux de l’Acadie, representing Sud-Est, and winning gold medals for three consecutive years with my team!Secondly, I enjoy listening to music, especially Korean pop. I find that the music consoles me when I am feeling doleful and when my mind is full.
All the songs in my playlist are awesome, but my favourite song is Breathe by Lee Hi. Lastly, I love travelling with my family and making special memories together. It is also fun visiting new places and countries. In my life, I have been to many countries, and my most memorable trip was going to Japan for Christmas holiday and going on a magnificent cruise! My role model is Yuna Kim, a former figure skater who broke the world record 11 times and who won a gold medal at the Olympics. She inspires me a lot because, despite her inadequate training environment, she worked extremely hard towards her goal and did not give up. With a lot of efforts, Yuna Kim finally achieved her goal and succeeded. (Furthermore, one of her quotes that motivates me is: “Even if you raise the temperature to 99°C and do not exceed the last 1°C, the water will never boil. It is the very last minute where you want to give up, but the next door will open beyond that moment.
“)In the future, I aspire to be a dentist. I want to be happy, and I also want to make my parents proud! I really want to help people who are in need, and I want to put a smile on their faces. To conclude, I am a fourteen-year-old Korean-Canadian who likes to play badminton, listen to music, and travel with her family. Yuna Kim is my role model, and in the future, I hope to become a dentist. My mottos are: “No matter how difficult and hard something is, I will always be positive and smile like an idiot.
“, “If you don’t give up your hopes and dreams, then there will always be a good ending”, and “Life is full of chances. Take it lightly.”
