One way that the Roman Empire is similar to the UnitedStates is that they are almost equivalent in size.
The Roman Empire is so closeto the same size as the United States that the Roman Empire and theMediterranean lake would fit inside without a lot of space left. Another reason that the Roman Empire is similar to theUnited States is their dominant powers. The Roman Empire and the United Statesboth have a lot of power and probably the most in the world. Some ways theyboth have so much power is because of their military, culture, and theirtechnology. The combination of their strong military, their advancedtechnology, and just their culture make them both very strong. One differencebetween Rome and America is their technological development. Rome’s engineershad a lot of skills but they didn’t have very many original ideas.
Most of theoriginal technology came from America. Another difference between Rome andAmerica was slavery. Rome had much more slaves than America. Rome always hadslaves and overtime America focused mainly on more important things thanslaves. Another similarity between Rome and America is their culture. Rome andAmerica both can’t get enough lawsuits and they both humiliation of famous andregular people whether it be on the radio or T.
V. Another similarity betweenRome and America is they both believe they are “chosen people”. They both thinkthey are “chosen” for their national character. Another way that Rome isdifferent than America is America’s abundance. Even though Rome was fairlywealthy they trended on thin ice way too often and America was over all morefinancially stable. Another difference between Rome and America is theirgovernment. Rome evolved from a city-state and they kept with that method butas for America considered itself as continental power.
Another differencebetween Rome and America is their social equality. The differences in thesocial equality is mostly their opinions on how people should be treated. Thelast difference between Rome and America is social classes.
Rome has no middleclass and America thrives off of their middle class.
